3 teams that fit Terry Rozier

Article by Antwon “Smitty” Smith

Terry Rozier is about to hit the free agent market after the Boston Celtics renounced his rights to make room for incoming point guard Kemba Walker. Rozier is going into his 5th season in the NBA and feels its time for him to test the waters. He had a setback season after the return of Kyrie Irving, only averaging 9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists. Now it’s a matter of where he’ll be playing next season to get back on track, so here are three teams he could help right away:

Charlotte Hornets

The Hornets just lost Kemba Walker, so why not replace him with an athletic point guard? Rozier may not have the scoring ability of Walker but he can put up respectable numbers. Michael Jordan has to put a competitive team on the floor, so this could be a good first step.

Phoenix Suns

Phoenix needs a veteran point guard to offset some of their youth and Rozier could be the right addition. Devin Booker needs help setting the tone on offense, so why not add a point guard that run the floor and get him more open looks? Rozier may fit better in Phoenix than anywhere in the NBA because his ability to run the break with that youthful team. It’ll be Monty Williams first year in Phoenix so look for them to be competitive.

New York Knicks

New York may strike out on free agency unless they make a late push for a top tier superstar, but if they can Rozier could be a solid fit in the back court with R.J. Barrett. He would probably have to beat out Dennis Smith Jr. for a starting spot, but I think he very well could become the a solid piece whether starting or coming off the bench.

Terry Rozier may not be on the market long but will he go to a team that will utilize his talents and get the best out of him? That will be answered shortly when the free agent period begins.
